A Birthday Quilt for Connor

Hi everyone!

I hope you all are having a fantastic October.

I meant to share this quilt with you in September, but time got away from me. But I'm here now, so let's get to it.

This quilt was made for my son Connor. Every time I start a new quilt, he asks me if it's for him. He already has 4. So this year, I decided I would make him another one. I asked him what colors he wanted, and he decided on yellow, gray, and black. Luckily I had some fabric that I had gotten a while back from JoAnn's in that color scheme, though some of it was florals. He said he didn't mind the flowers. I even let him pick out the pattern. He chose the Hitchens pattern from Quilty January, February 2014 issue.

So without further ado... I'd like to introduce you to Yellow Pepper.

This quilt goes together really fast.  It's made up of oversized quarter-square triangles that are trimmed to 12". For the quilting, I went with my usual stitch in the ditch. And the backing is a thrift store sheet.
The quilt finished at 80" square.

I wanted to take more pictures of it, but my son was too impatient to claim it. So I let him have it.

I'm just glad he loves it... Flowers and all.

That's it for now...

Thanks for stopping by!

Camille
