Hello 2020!

Hey everyone! I can't believe January is almost over and this is the first blog that I've done. I wish I could say that I've been super busy but I can't. For some reason, it has taken me a really long time to get back to normal after the holidays and I don't think I'm there yet even now.

Maybe this is my new normal????

Anyways, I finally got my quilting room painted and put together...not completely put together but enough that I've been working on quilts again.

I think I told you guys that I was going to be starting a Christmas quilt...well I've gotten the quilt top done. Here are a few pictures...

The pattern I used for this is Squares & Stripes by CluckCluckSew. (It's a free tutorial.) I haven't finished it yet because I haven't picked out the backing fabric or figured out the name of it...so I put it away for now until I find some more inspiration. But that's okay because I still have 11 months to finish it.

In the meantime...I started working on the Pottery Barn remake. Here is a picture of the quilt that I purchased at the thrift store...

I remembered I wanted to take a picture after I'd started taking it apart.  Luckily I caught myself while still working on the binding. (oh and it's hanging from a pole I had put up in above the closet door to hang stuff from.)

After taking it all apart I cut it all up into 12" squares. I then spent yesterday cutting the squares up and resewing them together. So far I'm really liking the randomness of it. I'll share more pictures of this one next time.

Well, I think we're all caught up. Today I'm going to actually start sewing the blocks together and see if I can get the quilt top completed this week.  I think next week I'm going to take the week off and work on finishing up my quilt room. We will see what happens.

Until then...

Camille
